Home MattersThe true needs of a child's heartDo you know the difference between what your children want and what they need? Kids can talk all day about the things they want... like an Xbox, cell phone, toys and other material things. But those aren't basic needs and they don’t satisfy for long. Dr. Tim Kimmel says there are three core needs that drive every child's heart. A need for security, a need to feel significant, and a need to feel strong. This Valentine’s Day while you are enjoying hearts filled with chocolates and other candies, take a few minutes to focus on your child’s true heart. Ask God to show you what the true needs of your child’s heart are and how you can meet them. Remember, God loves your children even more than you do. Fund Raiser MattersSpring Fling Fund RaiserWe are beginning to make plans for our big Spring fund raiser on April 17. We will be having a plant sale, community garage sale, silent auction, food, games for the kids, and much more. If you have any ideas or suggestions please let us know. Be looking for a committee sign up sheet to be coming home the first of March. Plan on setting aside some time to help with this fund raiser and finish earning your service hours. Yearbook Advertisements If you are interested in advertising in CCLC’s 2009-2010 yearbook, talk to Pam Odeneal or see the top of the home page for information. School Day MattersWalking through the school, students can be found singing, dancing, acting, reading, writing, hammering, drawing, or painting as the teachers use their creativity to fill the students days with memorable ways to learn, remember, and develop the talents that God has given each one of our students. February 18th the classes will enjoy visiting Mrs. Quigley’s Living Museum as the 3rd and 4th graders make history come alive. During the week of February 22nd, the entire school will participate in Missions Week where each class will learn about a continent and a missionary to that continent. We will conclude the week with a ” trip around the world” as the students travel from classroom to classroom to experience a little bit of culture from each continent. Dates to Remember: Spring Break: March 29- April 2 Soul MattersIn February, we are going to look into the lives of David, Goliath, Jonathan, Absalom, and Michal, and examine some things God says about honor and what it looks like to live in honorable ways.
