2010 - 2011 School Year
Mrs. Spence's List:
1. Bible - Students will need this bible everyday. Whatever version you're comfortable with is fine; we enjoy comparing versions. I use NKJV only because I like the figurative language. When I'm teaching language from the Bible I will provide them with copies. I find that the old King James is too difficult. I like study bibles, but they are not required. We use Bible Gateway (online) often since the students like to compare versions and use the study notes. Please consider downloading a program called ESword on your home computer; it is free and is an awesome resource.
2. 2-3 section spiral notebook or binder - If your student is prone to having random sheets of paper hanging out of his or her binder, you may prefer spiral. It matters not to me.
3. 2 packs lined paper
4. 1 pack copy paper
5. Pens, pencils, erasers, at least one highlighter
6. Hand sanitizer and box of tissues
7. The Watsons go to Birmingham a novel by Paul Curtis (I will gladly buy these novels back when we're done. Used copies are available at Amazon. The work is much easier when they do not have a library book.
Wish List
Colored copy paper, maps of any kind, books about Alabama (not just the Bear Bryant kind!), Christian or historical fiction novels, books about Ancient Civilizaitons, good dictionaries
